Warrior Service Day: Park/Playground Clean-Ups
Saturday, April 18, 2009, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Just in time for Spring, Detroit Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and Wayne State University are partnering for Wayne Cares Warrior Service Day, Saturday, April 18 from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, bringing hundreds of students, staff, and community residents together to clean up and revitalize several of Detroit’s large parks and playfields. Fusion members of the Detroit Regional Chamber and the Next Detroit Neighborhood Initiative (NDNI) are also joining in the effort. The goal is to get the areas ready for residents to enjoy sports and family outings.
The areas being cleaned up are:
Northwest: Eliza Howell (Fenkell and Telegraph)
Northeast: Lipke Playfield and Robinwood Playground (7 mile and Van Dyke)
Southwest: Clark Park (Vernor and Clark/Scotten)
East: Cannon Recreation Center and Balduck Park (Cadieux and Warren)
