Warrior Service Day: Detroit LISC & WSU Partner on Park Clean-Ups

Neighborhood clean-up day a huge success!

Just in time for Spring, Detroit LISC and Wayne State University partnered for Wayne Cares Warrior Service Day on Saturday, April 18. With the goal of getting areas ready for residents to enjoy sports and family outings, hundreds of students, staff, and community residents were brought together to clean up and revitalize several of Detroit’s large parks and playfields. Fusion members of the Detroit Regional Chamber, the Next Detroit Neighborhood Initiative (NDNI), and the City of Detroit joined in this year's clean-up event.

The four areas helped on April 18 included:

  • East - Cannon Recreation Center and Balduck Park (Cadieux and Warren)

  • Northeast - Lipke Playfield and Robinwood Playground (7 mile and Van Dyke)

  • Northwest - Eliza Howell (Fenkell and Telegraph)

  • Southwest - Clark Park (Vernor and Clark/Scotten)
